The food war.

Location. South East Asia

There was a war which occurred, a long time ago, if you are currently a baby. It happened in the 1960s, where the thought of separation riddled the minds of some. It was all about food.

Legend has it that there will be a war over the famed Fried Flour, but few believed as the Fried Flour was well liked by all. No one could believe that a war would break out with such a delicacy. Fried Flour was enjoyed by all in its various forms, which included banana, eggs, onions and even chocolate.

But amidst it all, was an undercurrent of change. One man, Leotourist, wanted it to be different. As the king, he believed that for the nation to ensure its survival, it had to appeal to the foreign sector, and must make full use of the famous food. Fried flour was delicious, but the name, disappointing. It did not capture the imagination of many, nor did it resonate in terms of syllables, as some thought it was a two syllable word, and others three. He decided. He would make the dish have a two syllable word. He would call it, Prata.

He consulted the Elders, but the Elders were adamant that the name should stay, as Fried Flour, but if Leotourist really wanted to a change, they were all right with Canai, as it too is a two syllable word. Disappointed, Leotourist, dashed out crying.

Taking a few like-minded fellows along with him, the war between Prata and Canai erupted. Never were the odds more stacked, well, they had asymetrical warfare. A phrase "Tonight we dine in hell...", was used by Leotourist, which summed up the whole nature of the conflict.

The war ended with a truce, where what remained of the fellowship of the Prata were consigned to a southern province which later gained independence from the Canai peninsular. Even till today, between the two nations, the terms "Prata" and "Canai" is used to describe the same Fried Flour, evoking memories that are non too delicious.
